engine backfires after shut down
Hi there - I'm a new rider and have had my GZ250 for a few weeks now......
For some reason - when I hit the engine kill switch to shut her down - it backfires. Is this something I need to worry about? thanks! Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: engine backfires after shut down
do a carb clean and adjust your mixture screw down in 1/4 turn increments till it goes away. a ball park for the screw is 2 turns to 1 1/2 turns out

Re: engine backfires after shut down
The backfire is caused by the lean jetting for the EPA requirements. If that is your only problem don't sweat it. Besides it is a great way to announce your arrival at Star Bucks. The Suzuki S-40(650 single) does the same thing and my friend just smiles and accepts the applause we give her upon a safe arrival.

Does anybody have pics of the mixture screw? I am having the same exact issues with the backfire.
