most of the newer saddle bags have zippers. the center section will be installed permanently under the rear seat, and the saddle bags will zip away from the center section so you can remove them. thats what i have on the wife's GZ. good set of medium sized bags.

Do a search on here for the multiple threads about burning a hole or melting the underside of the right bag if it hangs down too close to the muffler/exhaust pipe. Depending on what size bags you get, you may have to heatproof the bottom of the right-sided bag with a metal shield of some sort, either pop riveted or bolted on to the bag. Many of these threads have pics.
