Might be time to build a large underground shelter. Keep safe and don't get hurt.

Re: East Tn. storms

Hard to post without power.

Hail in this area was anything from marble to tennis ball size.

I will know more when the sun comes up.

Luckier than a lot of people...things can be replaced.

Ringgold, Ga., which is about 5 minutes north of my house by interstate, was basically turned upside down lastnight. All while here at the house we got maybe 15 minutes of light rain....

Weather is crazy like that.

Here's hoping no more folks loose their lives due to the storms. You can rebuild your life but not your family.

Re: East Tn. storms

Glad you guys are all right, lots of folks are not. Sorry about your truck. My family are all okay, no trees on any of their houses, just a lot of debris and learning to live without electricity for a while. My best friend lives in Ringgold on highway 151, he called me this morning and said he went outside to see what was going on and there was a giant hole like a cylinder, directly above his house leading all the way up through the cloud layer to beautiful blue sunny skies. A few minutes later that puppy dropped down on downtown Ringgold and from the news reports there is not much left untouched there. I just saw some helicopter shots of the area, looked like the middle school is completely gone. JB's Millworks building looked like it was completely gone if I was viewing what I thought I was. McDonalds looks like it took several artillery shells, Ruby Tuesday's was flattened, a motel at the interstate looked destroyed, Waffle house was destroyed, there was a large steel freeway billboard pole laying right through the middle of either Hardee's or Pizza Hut from front to back. Ariel views of several residential areas were amazing, hardly anything left standing in the shots I saw, just debris fields. Two 18 wheelers were overturned at I-75. The median guardrails were gone in several places and wrapped around other things in some spots. They had a large track excavator out on I-75 early this morning clearing the debris off the roadway. No electricity in Ringgold, no running water.

I'm heading back tomorrow morning from Atlanta, kinda dreading what I will find.
