My new 2002 GZ

Well its not new but its new to me. 5600 miles on it and looks to have been well kept. All the hoses and wires are great and tires in good condition. Rode it home 50 miles yesterday through heavy rain and bright sun. It was great. I'm 6ft 1in and about 230 and feel comfortable on it and it handles me great.

Welcome. Good buy.

You might want to check the date codes on the tires. They could still be originals from 2001; in which case they may not have much traction left regardless of how they look. If they are 9 years old, that is about 4 years PAST the recommendation.

A dose of carb cleaner in the gas occasionally is a good thing to do also.

Carb cleaner in the tank? How much do you use? I'll try to pick some up soon.

Yes, in with the gas.
Use what is recommended on the can.......BUT read PAST the part where it says to dump the whole can in the tank......of a CAR. It is usually about 1 OZ per gallon so you would use about 3 OZ. WalMart carries one of the best: Berrymans B12 Chemtool; in a metal can.

Read my previous message again; I changed it while you were replying !!

Thank you for the tip. I'll definitely look in to that. My last bike was a Ninja. I sold it when it was 8 years old with the original tires and 10,000 miles. OOPS!
