in need of a new front tire where to buy?
I need a new front tire. I bought a used 2003 that has been sitting for 3 years. The owner replaced the rear but the front is wheather checked. I have been searching the net and most tires are expensive. High speed rated, like I need that  . Where is the cheapest place to buy? is there another size that will fit? or is the 110/90-16 the only thing that will fit?

Re: in need of a new front tire where to buy?
The 110-90-16s are hard to get now and for the foreseeable future. I replaced mine with a 120/80-16 Cheng Shin. It fit fine and rode well. Some others on here have gone smaller with a 100/90-16 and that works too. The size difference either way is negligible and will never be noticed.

Hi Roy, welcome aboard.
I don't need tires yet, but I've looking around anyway. You can pick up a Kenda K671 front tire in 100/90-16 for about $50 online. I don't know anything about them except that they make a rear tire in the same style that fits the GZ250 (160/90-15, IIRC).

Re: in need of a new front tire where to buy?
Thanks, for the help. i figured there had to be a different size others are using. I picked the bike up for the wife so I don't want her riding it till I replace it. My concern was the different tire size messing with thge speedo.

You should definitely check it regardless of what "off size" you end up getting.

Re: in need of a new front tire where to buy?
BikeBandit has a Dunlop tire (110/90-16) at a reasonable price, I purchased a Dunlop rear tire, it was very reasonably price well below what Suzuki wanted for their Metzler and very fast shipment!

Re: in need of a new front tire where to buy?
The Cheng Shins were about $25-30 less, and from my dealer, with no shipping charges either.
The tire diameter differences are negligible from the 3 sizes talked about here, and with the inaccuracy of the speedometer anyway, won't make any significant difference. This has all been discussed before in a thread about tires if you want to look it up on here. |

I've bought tires for my Vulcan from this site before and they had good prices and I liked the tires, good luck.
