Valentine's Day
Went on my first pointless ride in some time today. It was quite nice out (82F!) and seemed like an appropriate day for some two up riding. Headed off to the Starbucks on the other side of Cook's Corner (located at the end of the 12 mile stretch of Santiago Canyon, one of the most popular cruising destinations in Southern California.) I've posted pictures of Moedad and I at Cooks a few times, on both GZ and our later bikes.
I got the lowdown on Starbuck pricing, at least for the one at the turnaround: $1.50 for a coffee. $.50 for a refill. I got a doppio for $1.95. Again I noticed how much more confidence I had, riding 60mph plus, two up on a road I couldn't maintain 55 the first few times on the GZ. Saw tons of other bikers, mostly Harleys, a smattering of choppers and sport bikes. I think everyone else had the idea that today was a day that should not be passed up. (I had to remove the liner from my jacket it was so warm.)

Re: Valentine's Day
Always good to have a little mystery in a relationship.

Re: Valentine's Day
More like, "Take the f**king picture already!"
She knows I have a Yamaha and a Suzuki but is not that aware of the Great Harley Divide. This picture was actually taken last year at the same location we went to today - she has HD riding boots now (I got a great deal on them.) At least two thirds or more of the Harleys that we passed on the trip (well over 100) gave (or responded to) the biker wave, so even though we are way outnumbered, they generally don't give a shit. Of course, the Strat kind of looks like a Harley with better aesthetics. Lots of two up riders today, although a surprising number were two guys. At least I think they were two guys. (Insert Harley/Sex Preference/Invitation-to-Get-Your-Ass-Kicked joke here.) Seriously, what is up with two guys riding a Hog? Here's another one from that trip - I think it's in the Cooks Corner parking lot.

Re: Valentine's Day
Actually, I do admir the bikers who carries a passenger at the back seat.
I don't remember any one for me.. ha ha ha Not only becuase of fear but also worry about the passenger incase of it falls... (according to my skill level yet)
