New GZ250 Rider - Chicago burbs

Hello all,

56 year old rider from west of Chicago. After riding my first motorized two-wheeler for a year, a Honda CH80 scooter, I bought a 2001 GZ250 in June with 277 miles. I've put on about 700 miles and I'm loving the bike and the extra power. The posts on this site are great and I've learned a lot. This past weekend I built wooden jack stands and cleaned, oiled and adjusted the chain. It's good to do some work myself again. The cars just have gotten too complicated to mess with.

I just wanted to say hi to all. Great site. Thanks to the moderators.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad you said "older" and not "old". Old is defined as about 15 years older than you are.

you guys arent old...sheesh, after I got my GZ, my dad bought two of them for he and my mom to ride (after taking a 25 year hiatus from motorcycles after I was born). He's 66, my mom is 64. In addition, theres a guy in my apartment complex who rides and he's 84...really grizzly biker dude. so 50's isnt old. geez.
