First morning commute to work on the GZ
This morning was a milestone: I rode my bike into work. What a thrill! Longest ride for me yet at 23 miles one-way. I avoided the highways which resulted in doubling my commute time ... but what could be better than starting your day riding through New England farm country on a fresh Spring day?!
For anybody familiar with Fairfield and Litchfield counties in Connecticut: From New Milford Proper onto 7 north to 37 West/South to 39 South, a couple side roads (to avoid hopping on I84) and onto Mill Plain Rd in Danbury. Weeeeeeeeeeee! If the weather were to cooperate, I'd ride in every day!!!

Mine roll up real small (in their own little net bags) & they're always in the saddlebag. I've also got a detachable liner in my leather jacket, for those really cold days. o.k., I don't need the liner, over here, but it's the thought that counts. :2tup:

Re: First morning commute to work on the GZ
That was one of my favorite milestones I passed. I still remember the first day I rode to work.
Good job.

Re: First morning commute to work on the GZ
Thanks for the kudos, patrick_777. I was almost hoping that all my riding yesterday would have tempered my obsession but it has only fueled it. All my other obligations are falling to the wayside as I scour this forum, research add-ons, map out my next ride, plan my next maintenance ... I never imagined this whole biking "thing" would be so ... FUN!!!

A Warning - watch out, this site gets addicting and I'm sure you have other more important things to do than check on here multiple times a day, like get out riding, for one. Enjoy the bike, and us too.

Re: First morning commute to work on the GZ
That's great! Congrats on the commute. Somehow it' easier to justify all the time and money spent on add ons when the GZ can be viewed as practical rather than just a toy. At least, that's what I'm trying to convince my wife of.
