new grips

I have the big diameter ISO grips from Kuryakyn. They're very comfy with no vibration. They are heavy enough that I don't need bar end weights.

Not if you get some good advice here and do it right! :biggrin:

You loosen the screw a bit and then PULL the whole assembly out.
Parts stay inside the bars only if you unscrew the screw too much.

I didn't go into the whole thing, meant it to be a warning, figured I'd let him look it up on here. Probably should have written the whole thing out like you and Patrick said.

And I fully agree with that but I figure that if I can convey the crux of the matter in two or three lines I might as well do that instead of using the same lines to tell him to look it up. :cool:

ok I went to change my grips this morning got the left side on without to much trouble.
but now i'm changing the right side and ran into some probs.
on the tube there is two raised edges that my new grips dont have a grooved slot for. Is this normal, are my new grips wrong,
and should i just trim the raised part off? here are some pics

If you have a Dremel tool or a knife and sandpaper, then that'd be the way I'd go. Those look like nice grips.

well nvm on my new grips the chrome parts are plastice and I broke one of them real easley
than brok the secend one takeing them off the put the stock grips back on. there junk.
but i got to learn somthing about by bike in the process so its not a total loss.
only thing is now i'm prolly going to spend about 70 on new grips vs the 14.99 for the ones i just tryed.

I just trimmed off the raised part at the end. Then my new grips slide right on.
