My '06 GZ

A phone camera pic of my GZ. Can't really tell it from this angle, but the previous owner bobbed the tail under the tail light and mounted a vertical license plate holder on the left rear swing arm. Came used with the wind screen, bags, sissy bar/luggage rack. I've put about 500 miles on it since early June 2008 and enjoy everything but the seat. Any aftermarket seats for these bikes?

Looks good. (insert obligatory "it looks just like mine" joke here)
There aren't too many after market parts specifically designed fo the GZ250, but if you head to the mods section There's some threads that may give you some good ideas.

Re: My '06 GZ

This has been covered to death on here already, but no no one makes an aftermarket seat for the GZ, you can only customize the one you have.

No but there are some aftermarket pads that help.
My first two attempts at fixing the seat failed.
I'm closing in on a pad fix now; results soon hopefully.

A couple of others have fixed their's by re-doing the padding themselves and Bob had his done by Sargent. The home-made ones and the professional one ($$$) end up looking remarkably alike.

Re: My '06 GZ

Thanks all - I did some research on other sections of the forum after I posted this. Looks like a solution will probably come from me . . .

If you do solve it please put it in the Mod Forum so we can all see.

Re: My '06 GZ

I've been wondering, my '03 has this black plastic 'dust cover' around the front axle on the right side. Like this.

Newer models don't seem to have this anymore.
I wonder if the cover was just dropped, or has the axle been redesigned?

Re: My '06 GZ

Mine doesn't have one of those dust covers either, and I have an '03. I think that its because whoever took the tire off my bike before I got it didn't put it (the dust cover) back on.

I may be mistaken but I thought I saw a thread about a Harley two up seat with a sissybar that was adapted to fit the GZ selling as a kit on Ebay. I forget the Harley model, (or maybe it was a Honda. Sucks to be old.)

Re: My '06 GZ

You did see a thread about that on here, I don't think it had a sissybar though, And it was a Harley Model, and Last I checked it was $99.00 for one, I was supposed to investigate the seat further but I have been sick.
