Confused about number of valves...
When I checked the valve stem clearance, I remember checking two rocker/stem distances up front (exhaust) and two at the rear (inlet) of the cylinder.
So, I was telling some interested people "it has four valves". Now in the newly introduced "specs" page I read that it only has two valves (and, more or less superfluously, "valves per cylinder: 2"). Does each valve have two stems ? Does only one of the stems have a valve at its bottom end ? :??:

Re: Confused about number of valves...
Must be a typo. Look on page 3-25 of the service manual. You can clearly see 4 valves in the 3rd picture. As far as I know, it has two intake and two exhaust valves.

When checking the internet, the mention of "2 valves" for this bike is quite common, for instance at motorcycle.com. But here of all places, you wouldn't expect it.

Re: Confused about number of valves...
If I remember correctly there are only 2 rocker arms but each one operates 2 valves. 2 intake valves and 2 exhaust valves. That is the reason for the 2 exhaust pipes coming off the head. Some people think the GZ is a vertical twin cylinder bike because of the 2 pipes.
