CDI for 1999 Model

So I recently bought a GZ for $200. The guy fried it completely and replaced some parts. I've tested the rectifier, stator, and coil. It will crank but no spark. I checked the resistance from the coil wire that runs from the CDI to the coil. One of the wires has absolutely no resistance while the other has an insanely high resistance. Thus this leads me to believe I need a new CDI. But the next problem is that I will be charged out of the ass for an OEM CDI since my bike is the earliest year. Would any 8 pin CDI work or is this incorrect? Any links to boxes you know would work would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
