Starter switch

Wife's bike has sat for a couple years. Has been drained of fuel. I changed the oil and put a new battery in today. Tried cranking a few times, then nothing. Lights are on, horn works, and it will crank if I short the terminals on the solenoid, I think it's the solenoid. But, the switch does nothing. Tried rocking the kill switch a few times. Any other suggestions? Can the switch be opened up and cleaned out? No Suzuki dealer for 200 miles.

Thanks all!!
Yes, I did a quick search, but couldn't find my exact problem.

**Apparently, the son-in-law took the carb apart to clean it and it is missing a couple screws. Any place to source the screws? May as well tear down and rebuild the carb as well.
