Another game - change one letter

Here's another game, and not to give up on the last word-first word one going on in the next thread.
I'll start with a 4 letter word - you must change only one letter to make a new word and we'll see how long this one can go on.
My first word is "game".
Change one letter = "lame".

Your turn, just change one letter and write the word in your reply. Must be a real word, slang is OK, foreign languages are OK, but nothing made up.
