First Ride in the Rain

Well...right before Xmas I had my first chance to ride in the rain. Believe it or not, we finally got some rain in the Atlanta area and I thought I could dodge the rain one afternoon and go to the local bike shop to get my rear tire replaced. I got there fine with no rain, but when they were done and I was ready to leave, it started raining pretty good. Luckily I had my waterproof riding gear, so I didn't have any worries about getting soaked and cold, but I was nervous about getting on wet pavement with a brand new tire. I knew I needed to take it carefully and make easy turns with minimal leaning. My GZ has a pretty good windshield, so I didn't pickup too much rain on the helmet and upper body. I made it home safely with another new riding experience under my belt. I don't think I'll be as nervous in the future should I get caught out in rain.
