Re: Ran out of gas = improved performance ?

I only look at it when I'm at the gas station (and I'm desperately trying not to forget to switch it back from reserve to "ON")

Sometimes I don't even look at it then. Typically, if I run it down to reserve, the engine coughs a bit or hesitates and I generally am able to reach under my knee and flip it backward. I'm not the world's most skilled rider but I've done this several times at high speed on multilane highways, so it can't be that hard.

So I think of it - frontwards is NORMAL, backwards means GO TO GAS STATION SOON (and don't forget to put it back and reset trip OD). Since it won't go over the top, it's pretty easy to tell by feel which position it's in.

Now if I could only master the F*cking turn signals.
