Fork oil should be changed every 3 years or so. Fork oil gets contaminated over time from internal aluminum friction and moisture intrusion. If you have never changed the fork oil in many years, drain the fluid and have a smell....

(that fluid will smell like the $hithouse door of a tuna boat !!! )

stock GZ250 suspension is very soft, so the more you weigh, the thicker the viscosity oil should be used in the forks.
