My 2002 was traded with 15,000 miles, with the original filter. Always ran real good. You can blow out the filter to clean it.

About the 16 tooth sprocket...you have to pick the time and place for it to shine..
The original 15 will usually run wide open any time, but with the 16 you really have to play with the throttle all the time.
