Got more than i asked for... in repairs!
i just bought a 2002 GZ and knew it was going to need some work. It needed the carbs cleaned and a new front tire and the muffler welded back on. what id didnt know was that is was going to need a new head gasket because the guy i bought it from rode it around without the muffler and it sucked cold air into the engine. it then warped and blew out the head gasket. I bought the bike for $700 plus the $100 it took to rent a uhaul truck to pick it up. after a new front tire which cost $135 and the head gasket which cost $40 plus $250 labor i was in about $1,225. I then had to get it registered. Again the guy before me let the tags expire in 07. there is another $235. now im up to $1,460 ish. i finally got everything fixed and paid for and i am riding it to work when t starts spitting oil all over my left leg. the only thing i can think is that when i fixed the head gasket all the pressure that was getting out through there was built up in the motor and found the next weakest place to escape and cracked the gasket in between the motor case. or something like that... so now all i have to do is fix that gasket and i should be good to go. i love the little bike but i might sell it so i could get my sport bike. i know i will get another one in the future because me and my dad are going to turn one into a chopper!
