Brake light

My brake light does not come on when I engage (push down on) the foot brake but it does come on with the hand brake. What/ how should I check to see if something is just loose or if I need a new bulb of some kind?

Just coming out of hibernation.. GZ fired right up in MN thanks to great winterizing advice here....
