New guy, different bike---But!!!
I've been snooping this site for several years now. I bought a TU250X in 2010 as I have a 34" inseam and the GZ is a bit short for my ergonomics. That being said,I've learned quite a bit here.
I made a set of jack stands per the instructions of "Badbob's" thread here. I did a front and rear sprocket change per this site. I've had several bikes in my lifetime: 1966 Yamaha YDS3 --250cc 2 smoke. 1971 Yamaha AT1---126cc 2 smoke. 1966 BMW R50/2--500cc 4 stroke 1971 BMW R50/5 Toaster--500cc 4stroke After a 30 year layoff from riding I bought the TU250X At 67yo my riding ability is very rusty, but I feel like 25 again when I'm on the road. ![]() Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Welcome to the forum. Glad to hear you are back to riding.
Nice pics. Did you make the rear carrier yourself? Love the box too. Have it's big brother in the back of my truck. How do you like the performance and handling of the TU? |

Thanks all for the welcome.
The TU is very nice since I changed the sprockets, so now I can get across an intersection before I have to shift into second. She accelerates about as fast as my old R50/2. She's handles really nice on back roads and with the windshield not too bad on the highway. She kind of poops out over 75mph, which is just fine for me! Most of my rides are under 40 miles, with some as long as 190 miles. I just ordered an AirHawk cushon as my butt feels the pain after 50 miles or so. The rack is made by a company called CycleRacks (they use a picture of my bike on their website). Its really well built. The box is a RubberMaid 8 gal. Action Packer. I have added 2 Tool tubes to carry water bottles and some cheap saddlebags (K-Mart kids department). My wife keeps saying something about a second childhood--What ever does she mean?
