Push the indicator assembly up from the bottom, about 1 cm (1/4 imperial inches). Then you can take the green lens out. And then you can pull the indicator lamp holder down through the hole. Roll the rubber back for access to the bulb. Most likely your bulb burnt out. I replaced them with 2 leds a while ago:

I don't think my light bulb is out because it starts to work sometimes when the bike comes to a stop. Thanks for the advice nonetheless

Put in a new bulb just to rule out a faulty bulb that likes to work part time. After that if the problem still persists I would check all ground wires and wiring leading to the speedo head.
While you are at it, you should check all the signals and front running lights too. Brake light operation both from the lever and foot pedal. Tail light and Hi/Lo beam.

Yeah, I am picky about lights and their proper operation but a person has to be responsible for the safe operation of their vehicle. A good habit and one I practice is check your lights at the begining of every day that you ride or drive. It doesn't take long and may prevent a bad mishap that spoils your future in many ways.

erh, I'll try that, thanks. What kills me is that the indicator works when I come to a stop but stop as soon as I go back again. Also the little rubber casing for the turn signal indicator is a pain to peel back to access the lightbulb.

OK, which one is the ground wire? The black one connected to the battery?

The ground is the one connected to the -ve of the battery, but ground is also any point on the bike frame.

You will find no ground wire at the signal indicator though. It is wired between the two signal lights. When one is on, a little current goes via the signal indicator bulb to the other signal light. Which makes the other signal light blink too, dimly.
