High speed sluggishness

I notice when I go over speeds of 60 to 70 mph I can feel the GZ sputtering some. I don't normally run this fast but noticed it on a high speed stretch recently. Most times I'm running at 55 mph or below.

I know the GZ isn't really made for these high speeds, but can do it. I'm thinking the fuel can't get to the carb fast enough to keep up with those speeds.

Thoughts?

The GZ come from factory tune for emissions, you can get about 2HP tuning your carb.
I'm running mod air cleaner, 2.5 turns on the pilot, 140 main jet and 16T sprocket.
cruse at 70mi easy an get 62MPG on the city

Re: High speed sluggishness

Steelpix, run some carb cleaner through your next tank of fuel. There should be no fuel starvation at the speeds youre talking about. The GZ can handle 70mph no problem, unless you weight like 280lbs.

We only have one carb and keeping it clean and healthy is imperative to maintaining and happily running engine.
