you just might be a genius! when i took them off there was only one. the previous owner must have lost the other.
so is it pretty likely that this is the problem? even if the squeal started a couple days after i changed them |

Probably took a coupla days for the pads to bed in to the shape of the discs. I wouldn't think that the shims would be very expensive, so it might be worth getting a pair and fitting them, just to eliminate one possibility. Another thing..Did you lubricate the guide pins, to allow the pads to move freely?
