Re: Moped Trip Canada to Alaska
WOW, that was quite a trip. I have never been that brave or adventurous. I have travelled many of the roads he was on but in the middle 80's and with 4 wheels instead of 2 wheels. I did not however travel the Dempster Highway after talking to folks who had first hand knowledge of it.
Chicken Alaska which is a little stop along the way got it's name because no one could spell Ptarmigan at the time. LOL. Top of the World Highway is a memory never to be forgotten. Certain sections are just that. Single lane with a deadly drop off on both sides. This narrative is a must read for anyone who wants to travel North. The roads are now paved and the number of modern facilities are more numerous. Thank you Fawlty for bringing back some delightful memories of years ago. |

Re: Moped Trip Canada to Alaska
I read one of these one time about a 1960s trip on a 50cc two stroke... I need to look that up and add it here.
I think it was New York to California... It was crazy. |
