Re: Dollar Shave Club.......
JONATHAN said "Hell YES, Eddie! "
I'm glad you also like my method , Jonathan. I buy the soap, I make the lather with a brush, and you are right, it is very aromatic and smooth. Like I said in my post, I have a double-edge razor, and with the blades and soap I buy, I can shave every day, for almost 4 yrs, for just about 40 cents a week. Anybody can learn how to shave using the old style razor, you just learn to be extra careful. You do NOT want to shave in a rush with such a sharp blade on your face. I do 2 passes, once for up/down then after applying more water and lather, a horizontal pass. MY face ends up smoother than a baby's behind.... as the saying goes.

Re: Dollar Shave Club.......
I also do the standard double pass using the mug lather.
One traditional top-to-bottom shave and then one horizontal. In a rush, I'll do just one pass but after that second pass it's amazing how much smoother and cleaner your skin will look. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: Dollar Shave Club.......
Where and how do you find that stuff?
You mean, developing my own shaving technique by trial and error and learning for the past 55+ years, I've been doing it all wrong? Basically we all wind up the same, but I never saw any printed instructions or advice about this. And going back to the canned soap and bristle brush and double edged razor blades is good for many reasons, but the problem in society is that everyone is rushed and too busy and wants convenience in their lives at whatever cost, plus advertising has taken over people's judgment and reasoning and decision making ability. After a while I didn't want to be bothered with this morning ritual any longer, so I grew my beard and only shave maybe every 2-3 days and trim it once a week. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: Dollar Shave Club.......
I somehow found the Artofmanliness website a while back, but re-discovered it this morning.
Looking through their archives, this just seemed very appropriate. |
