Parking Privileges.

Question for anyone who might know.

I live in PA, in my Apartment complex we have wider than normal parking spaces. Usually I do my fellow neighbors a favor and park my bike and car in the same space. I've ran into 2 instances now where I've come home from bring out in the car and come home to someone parking into the spot inches from my bike. What the hell is that about? Is there any laws or such that state my rights as a motorist to delegate that space as mine until my vehicle is removed from it?

Why not do what I do? If I park in a space wide enough for a car, I park slap bang in the middle, so a car can't use the same space. Luckily, in our apartments, the spaces are numbered & allocated to the individual apartments (because we had to pay for the parking space, separately to the apartment)

If you pay for the parking stall and it is supposed to be for your use only I have an idea. Just back out of the parking stall and put a brightly colored saw horse across the entrance to the stall. Most folks are too lazy to get out of their car and move something.

I concur.

You're being too nice.
Your motorcycle is a vehicle, same as the moron's car that parked inches away from you.
You have the right to a whole parking spot if you want it.

Unless an organization provides secondary parking for bikes, which I think they all should, then park in one and take up as much space as you can.

Re: Parking Privileges.

Parking bikes is an art form of sorts. You try to tuck them in where they are safe and some one parks so close you can't get to the bike. Had a minor issue with a car next to the Vstrom but we worked it out to both our advantages. Problem solved.
Small dedicated spaces for bikes are a grand idea. The parking lot at my fav StarBucks has several. We also manage to stuff 2 sometimes 3 bikes into a car stall when everyone is arriving in groups. A little cooperation goes a long way.
