Don't know anything about the 2009 nor prices but I can recommend the Barons Full Size Engine Guard. The best place to purchase it is from the link. $179 with free shipping. Ride safe.

GzRider pretty covered what I would have said.
Ask them the out-the-door price (OTD) and then get it lowered. They'll pretend that they can't bargain with you but they can. At the very least, have them shave off a few dollars and ask them to throw in a free helmet. My dealer gave me a free OEM sissy bar. Given the option, I would always go with a new bike. You get a factory warranty, don't have to question the service history of the bike because there isn't one and you will know, from day one, how the bike was treated. That offers a lot of peace of mind. Does it cost more than a used bike to get that peace of mind? Sure. But I think it's worth it in the long run. But, like I said. If you have money in hand, you can haggle a little bit and maybe even wind up with some free accessories. |

Not necessarily! I've got over 20,000 km from new. Oil & filter change every 5,000 km. I've NEVER had to add a drop of oil between changes. I reckon it depends on the bike, the rider, and the way it's ridden.

This bike is not NEW. The tires and battery are already 2 years old and that right away should warrant a lower price. The dealer should at least put in a NEW battery for the purchaser of this bike. You can tell the dealer all you will pay in extra fees is the sales tax, those other "costs" he wants to pass on to you are not acceptable. They like to charge around $100 for "documentation" and title fees and paperwork, etc, and "dealer prep" and shipping charges, and on and on. Just tell him to eat those as that's the cost of him doing business. Then ask him, does he want to get rid of, I mean sell, this bike or not? There are lots of other bikes and other dealers out there so put him on the defensive and lower his price considerably.

This bike also needs a carb cleaning as it has been sitting for 2 years with no use. If the dealer won't change the battery and clean out the carb, walk away and tell him to keep the bike another 2 years. You will have trouble with it from lack of use and will not be happy if it's not serviced before you get it.
