Headlight assembly, chrome ring question
Hi All. New to the site but have already learned a great deal from reading here. I finally have a problem that I could use some help on. I have a 2003 Gz and I am trying to remove the chrome ring on the headlight assembly. I understand from reading here that after you remove the 2 screws you need to pull the bottom toward you pushing the top down and releasing the lip at the top. But the Bottom will not budge even with a good dose of wd40 to loosen some rust spots. Anyone know of a trick for this? I can get a screw driver in the bottom as it is separated about an 1/8th inch after pulling. Trying not to damage the ring.
Thanks.

Re: Headlight assembly, chrome ring question
Welcome.Make you have the right screws out, as there are headlight adjustment screws under the rim also. The proper ones are a little larger with washers under the heads. If you have the proper ones out sometimes it helps to turn the rim back & forth.

Re: Headlight assembly, chrome ring question
Thanks Blaine. I removed the right screws and have tried to loosen it up. It will not rotate at all but the bottom will pull out about an 1/8th in so I know its loose. Was able to get a flathead in the gap and gave it a little pry, about all it accomplished was a slight mash in the ring. The ring has a slighly flattened spot at about the 2 oclock position, this may be binding the ring. I am out of ideas and looking for a used headlight to replace it once I "pry it off".
