Stoopid mistake adjusting valves......

THE VALVE COVERS ARE NOT SYMMETRICAL! Make sure you put them back on the way they came off!

I was in a hurry when I did my first valve adjustment. I adjusted the valves and took her for a 15 mile ride to work. When I got there I noticed oil smoking off the exhaust and all over the engine and for that matter the rest of the bike. In my rush I assumed the valve covers were symmetrical and didn't pay attention to the orientation that I put them back on. I had put the intake valve cover on rotated 180 degrees. I got lucky that my bike did not catch fire or worse get enuff oil on the back tire to cause it to slip.
