Alan.... have you checked out the 2010 Stratoliner Deluxe with fairing and painted hard bags?

It's the Yamaha version of the Harley Streetglide.

There is a "new" trend toward light duty sporty baggers. The Streetglide is now HD's most popular model.

It looks like Yamaha is finally getting on the bandwagon.

This is a very attractive bike and is a couple thousand dollars less than the HD offering.

I've also been told Suzuki is not offering any 2010 US models as their inventory includes unsold 2007 models.

Nah, I guess I'm not really much of a shopper. (remember, my "new" car is a '99 Suburban [bought in '98]) But I'll take a look. THere's no question the V-star's are modelled after the H-D look... just somewhat better engineered for heat and vibration

The Strat doesn't come with cruise, AM/FM/WB CD, full guages, or self-cancelling turn signals though, and I really love those features.

Also, mine does shake a bit at idle, but the TC88 smooths right out as soon as you turn the throttle, and doesn't overheat like the new TC96. Mines a 2006 and I'm keeping her.

Any hits on the GeeZer yet, or you just gonna keep it??

I do own a Strat (Big Apple USA Strat w/ Seymour Duncans) and a USA Telecaster too. I used to do a version of the Beatles Paperback Writer substituting "Architect Biker" for the tag line. I sold most of my guitar collection of 16 guitars, 5 basses, and 6 amps to help get me through the poor economic times in early 2007. Been playin for almost 40 years now, but realized a long time ago that architecture pays a lot more than rock music. At least it used to...........

Are you sure about the accessories? (I have self cancelling turn signals on the '07) I haven't advertised the Geezer in a while... I guess I'm partly not motivated becuase people don't want to pay anything and partly not motivated cause I'm lazy. But if someone walked up to me in the street and offered $2100 I'd probably take it. I don't want to start another shitstorm, but my final take on the GZ is it's a little too under powered for where I live. If I want to get a second smaller bike for around town, I think I'd go a bit higher, or maybe go with a Ninja to mix it up. (In all reality, I'd probably just ride the Strat full time.) I've also thought about a Beemer (I think they have a 1300cc)

I am pretty sucky on the stringed instruments, somewhat less sucky on the piano. I have been playing for about 40 years too, but I have no talent. Last year I played some actual "gigs": One set of 36 shows in a band and one three night solo Christmas music piano thing. I got better playing the shows, but, really without regular performing, my abilities aren't going anywhere. Can we post MID's on here? I tried to put a midi on the upload from two years ago. It's a bit clunky and has some errors but it's representative.

I pretty much feel the same about my GZ. I had a 2005 (?) Kawi Drifter 800. I should have kept that one and sold the GeeZer when I could have.

I feel that Beemers are kinda geeky/nerdy and unless you have a 40" inseam, you're gonna tiptoe at lights.

This was a really comfy and fun midsize bike. I should kick my own ass for selling it.

I also do a few gigs yearly as a fill in for a couple local old fart bands. No money in it, it's just for fun.

Nice looking Drifter. Not everyone goes for that look but it is sort of unique. Has been done before of course but Kawi did a fine job. 800 CCs, not too big, not too small.
