Newbie Here
Well, as the title says I'm a newbie here and a newbie to motorcycles. I just purchased a 2007 Suzuki GZ 250 today and it's my first bike. I'm 58, living in South Carolina and retired so I figured it's time to try one of these machines. I'm looking forward to all I can learn from the experts.

Welcome to the world of 2 wheels. As a newbie you will benefit from some rider training to learn a few tricks of the trade so to speak. Learning to do things the right way the first time is easiest. The GZ will be a great learning tool and treat you right. And congrats on being retired. You now have lots of time to read a copy of Proficient Motorcycling. Probably the best reading material for any rider younng or older.

Two quick comments: Check the right hand bag for contact with the muffler. There are threads here about that. You might want to consider tilting the top of your shield back an inch or two ( no more) as that should cut down on the wind resistance a bit. Don't need to worry about that though until you get to the point where you are comfortable going over 40 mph.

An inch is probably all you need. You can stick metal on it to help further.
