Selling my baby.....

I'm thinking about moving up to a Boulevard, so I need to sell my '08 GZ. She is in very good shape, never been dropped, gets around 67mpg and has 4800 miles on her. According to Blue Book, she should sell for around $2350. Is this a good asking price?

Used bike values listed in Motorcycle Consumer News (Lasted issue) only goes up to the 2007 model. They listed are the full "retail value" price. The 2007 is listed for $2250. They got the pricing figures from N.A.D.A Appraisal Guide. www.nada,com Think it is priced a bit high to sell to an individual, but check out threre site., a 2007 is listed at $2095. Keep us informed what you list it for and what it goes for. These little bikes are hard to sell.
:??:

Good luck! Think Kelly Blue book lists values too!

Re: Selling my baby.....

I advertised my '08 for 2695 and got zero bites. Pretty sure it was overly optimistic. Mine had less mileage plus a windshield. And I'm in SoCal where everything sells for more money. Mint condition.

SoCal here, too.....I think I'll try $2200 and see what happens. Gas is creeping back up towards $3.30 so that might be an incentive.

not every one wants to buy a 250cc witch might have been part of the problem. if you get the right person i still think he could get 2500-3000 for it. i think that is the key to selling one of these is finding the right person.

That's still just over half what we pay in Spain, & in England they pay 2½ times your price!

Re: Selling my baby.....

Keep in mind that folks have lots of cheap options for starter bikes here in the States. If they can afford to spend 2.5-3k, they are probably going to splurge for the extra 500 or so and get something from the dealer. Or, alternatively, they can finance and pay pennies per month. Folks looking in the used market, meanwhile, have lots of 250cc options in the 1500-2000 range, or at least they do in Raleigh NC.

Plus, this isn't the hot time of year for bike sales, especially smaller bikes. Most beginners don't get started in fall or winter, so this is really a buyer's market right now. If you're not in dire need of cash, you're probably better off waiting until spring.

Also, if you can afford to be patient, someone will probably eventually pay what you feel it's worth. It all depends on how long you're able to wait for that one buyer.
