Hi, I got a used gz. Does it use standard or metric tools
What is the biggest size wrench/socket you generally need for normal maintenance on this bike. I see the front sprocket uses a huge nut but I can get things like that later when i need them. Are there any specific tools you need for general maintenance that you would not normally get in your average socket/wrench kit like what every you need to remove the front axle.
I am in the market for a new kit, the kit I have now only goes up to 14mm and 5/8 due to the fact that some of it is missing, let a friend borrow some tools and don't think I will ever get them back. It is probably time to buy some new tools any ways. Mine are really old Thank You Johnny Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Metric
Sockets/Wrenches: 10,11,12,14,17, 18 (Maybe?) mm, are the sizes you'll encounter, iirc Hex Bits (Allen wrench): 4 & 6 mm |

You will also need a Philips screw driver. A stubby and regular length would be ideal. You will need a "real" pair of pliers too. You will also have room under the seat for small LED flashlight and a tire pressure guage. The front axle might require a 12 mm Allen wrench.

The plug wrench that comes with the bike uses the screwdriver as a lever to turn. Fixed it in the post.

I got you, I was wondering what that was, the tool kit that came with the bike is basically a rear axle wrench, a small screwdriver, the spark plug wrench, 2 small Allan's and a crappy pair of pliers. This is a 10mm bit in the front axle bolt The correct size for this axle bolt is all i need to know, I don't want to buy any bits i don't need. Thanks for the rest of the good info |
