Horns
I installed the Stebel Nautilus Compact Motorcycle Air Horn on my gz250 and what a horn. Got rid of the road runner horn and now it sounds like a Mack truck. It sends the horses to the other side of the pasture.
I have had to use it a couple of times already, one a lady who wasnt looking and was going to pull out of her driveway and another for a dog. Scared the $h1+ right out of them. I found an easier way to install then the directions. The directions wanted to cut the original wires, mount the 20 amp block under the seat, etc. After studying the directions, I realized all I had to do was: 1. I removed the original horn. 2. Using the same location, attached a 4inch metal bracket to hang the new horn 3. Using the original horn wire connectors, connected to corresponding place on the 20 amp block sent with horn. 4. Connected + horn terminal to the correct place on the amp block. 5. Ran a 'hot' wire (using the hot wire/fuse received) to the battery + post and the corresponding terminal on amp block. 6. Connected negative wire to new horn and connected it to ground on chasis (used the bolt which connects the handlebar assembly to frame). 7. Mounted the amp block behind the right front reflector. 8. Using wire ties already in place, wire tied the wires together, ran with other wires. I had to do no drilling, cutting, jury rigging. When the wife gets back from Florida with the camera, I will take pictures and post. You have to connect Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Reviving a thread that needs to be revived and updated... no reason to start another...
ok I thinks I got everything needed -Horn -Fuse Holder -10Amp fuses -14gauge wire -Relay just opened the horn... it even has instructions... imagine that... I'll scan and post those... awww... heck I may as well make a "to do" with pics and all. I forgot the most important thing when doing something like this... the... beer... *leaves to go to the corner store* Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Some replacement horns, while a lot louder, don't draw that much more current and don't need a relay. How did you determine that the one you got DOES?...........or just being safe ??
