You
Yeah, it's been hot as hell here and raining every day too. I ride between the rain drops and sweat. What else can one do??
Thanks for the compliment on the bikes. As the building biz is in the toilet here, I do alot more riding than working these days. Drop me a PM when the time gets close. Let's try to hook up for a lunch and a ride. Sarris

Advice
Sounds good!
Hey, Maybe you can give me some advice....I just purchased the yamaha v-star and love it! However, I find my right upper thigh gets really hot when Im stopped. I'm not sure if the heat is coming from the upper exhaust pipe or the heat from the sun on the chrome engine, pipes... Any advice? Should I take the upper pipe off? Sew a patch on my jeans?(lol) or will I just get used to it over time? I love the bike, but will ride my GZ to work and back...no complaints from the GZ...lol

Heat shields
Hey;
Right thigh heat problems are really common on v-twin bikes. And no, you'll never get used to it. Kuryakyn makes clear plastic heat shields for Harleys (I've got them on mine and they work great), but I don't know of any for your Yamaha. Here is a photo of the ones for a HD from Kuryakyn. Maybe you could have someone make you some from lucite or sheet acrylic or modify a HD set. Do you have anyone in your life that's handy?? It could be a cheap effective fix if done properly. You also may want to search the web for "motorcycle saddle heat shields" or "motorcycle heat shields". I've looked but I don't find anything except for HD. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Sarris :2tup:

WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! That would be great! I will research them and ask my dealer/shop if they can order any. I only need it for the right side...the left side doesnt get hot at all. Thanks Sarris!!!!! As usual you're a life saver!
