New to the forum, have backfire issue - Page 2

I have messed with it thinking that it's part of the problem. It's at 2 1/4 out right now

For the record the pilot screw will mainly effect idle and starting.
Mine is a little under 3 turns out. From what others have said mine is more out
than most.

The pilot screw probably had nothing to do with the serious problems.
But if you had a dying engine, hard starting engine, surging engine... The the pilot screw may
be your issue.

Well, the battery has started sulfating on me so I haven't been able to dink with it any further, but since it has been sitting, the crankcase HAS NOT filled with gas yet… *knocks on wood*

The choke (enricher) could be stuck.
