timming adjustment

Will need maintenance service, timing seems to need adjusting

what does that mean it need timing adjustment

I saw it on an add when someone trying to sell their gz 250

The timing is controlled by the CDi box. I do not think you can adjust the timing yourself.

ignition timing can be mod to advance or retard than the stock....and as far as i know....there are 3 ways to do it

1.buy aftermarket CDI (this is the easiest way)
2.modding camshaft gear nut holes
3.slide pickup coil

little more advance timing can add some low end torque (and i did this one)

To the best of my knowledge the CDI works like a lightbulb................it is off or it is on. Can't be adjusted on GZ. Just a little bit of misleading wording to mask a possible worse problem.

Just wait to see if Alantf confirms my lightbulb theory.

Yup, looks like the ignition coil assembly is a sealed unit (according to the parts manual)
