Lights/ignition work but won't crank
I've seen this on multiple previous posts but no definite answers as to what the real problem of a "dead starter switch" was. Today I started getting intermittent cranking problems and after checking the clutch switch, kickstand switch and the red kill switch the bike would only crank when it wanted. Checking the 10A IGN fuse with a test light showed that the fuse was ok, but it was actually the root of the whole problem. If the GZ250 has ignition lights but doesn't crank then pull the LR 10A IGN fuse out and check the terminals below it. In my case the front fuse terminal was pushing down into the fuse panel every time I installed the fuse! To install the fuse and make a good connection I had to put a screwdriver under the fuse panel wiring and hold the wire up when I installed the fuse so it would slide into the terminal instead of pushing the terminal down into the fuse panel. Hope this helps anyone with a dead bike when they push the start button and nothing happens. Jerry

Thanks Jerry. Another helpful hint to keep the bike on the road.
