What's the coldest temperature that you've ridden in?

Commuted in yesterday morning at 26 degrees, heavy frost-I'm not giving up till there's snow or ice on the roads. We had an inch of snow on Wednesday morning(not forecasted)-gotta love Indiana weather.

3 months of riding to work in the GWN years ago. 20 below F was an average temp at the time.

It was the choice I made at the time. Couldn't afford to fix the cage, was cheaper than riding the bus, faster than riding the bus.
Even a 2 stroke doesn't kick start well in the cold but it always started. Thankfully I never had to ride in rush hour traffic.

It was 19F one day for me... That was about enough of that.

Re: What's the coldest temperature that you've ridden in?

40F, If I needed to I would but not when I have a nice warm cage that gets 32-34mpg

When I washed dishes at a RYAN's for $5.50 an hour when min wage was $5.15, I couldn't afford to drive the 94' mercury sable I had. So I rode mountain bike 12 miles round trip.
Coldest in WV I remember was 18F. Had real hills to go up and down too! Unlike the flatness of Hampton roads VA

I used to bike commute too.

I rode once when it was 23F and on one particular extreme downhill, the tears literally froze to my face. I had little ice trails starting at the outer part of my eye and reaching down to my ear lobes. It was crazy.

Re: What's the coldest temperature that you've ridden in?

Heh heh, all this talk of cold weather reminds me of why I moved from the Canadian prairies to the West coast. Bought the Vstrom and rode for 7 years here. Had all the heated gear just in case I got cold. Eventually turned into a sunshine rider only. Sold the Vstrom but I find myself on CL looking for a sunshine bike that just grabs me. No luck so far.
