Air Filter smells of gasoline

What it says on the tin. I just checked it so see if it was dirty it's was cleans as a whistle but smelled like gas is this a major or minor trouble?

Don't sweat it. You likely have gas fumes drifting up from the carb. Just don't check things with a smoke in your mouth.

No it's not wet I tapped it on my arm and nothing came off.
