Turn Signal and Brake Light replacement

I have changed the brake light bulb with a 16 light led. Are turn signal led bulbs available? All I can find are straight bulbs (light coming out the end) If turn signal bulbs are available what is the bulb number. I have only had the GZ for 4 days and Ilove it!

Re: Turn Signal and Brake Light replacement

If you replace the turn signal bulbs with LED bulbs, please be aware that 1) the front turn signal bulbs have two filaments each, one for the "daylight running light" and one for the actual turn signal. So you will need two LED bulbs in the each front turn signal housing, one for each function.
2) the turn signal indicator (on the console) works by draining its power to the turn signal that is currently *not* engaged. You can see the other turn signal gently blink when the one is engaged, that is the current going through the indicator bulb. So if you just replace the four turn signal indicator bulbs by LED bulbs, you may be out of a turn signal indicator (will not blink due too low current); and it is very likely that all four signals (left and right) will blink when you switch the turn signals on either way.

So, in this case, think before do. It is possible, but you will have to do some tooling around the front turn signals to get both LED bulbs in, and rewiring around the turn signal indicator, to replace it by two LEDs each drained to ground (0V) with a resistor (or two diodes with one LED and a resistor) before it will work.

If you decide to do it, please turn it into a "how to", that would be appreciated.
