Just got her yesterday! Any recommendations?
Hello from the Lehigh Valley! I just bought a black 2005 GZ250 at auction for just under a grand. The bike has 3700m and was used as a training cycle for the PA Motorcycle Safety Program. Mechanically, everything is in tip top shape. Apparently, it had been sitting cold for about 4 months but it started easily the first time and it is a blast to ride. Last summer I bought a Honda CB450 Nighthawk as a project bike. Even though that one is faster, the GZ is way more fun and I can't wait to pretty her up.
She does have some damage from drops. The tank has some serious dents so I'm looking for one that is in good condition (anybody sellin'?). The left side fairing is also cracked but it was repaired with zip ties and it actually looks like stitches which is pretty sweet. The headlight housing is a bit dented too. Other than that, I'm just looking for some direction for some mods. Any and all are welcome. I already purchased a set of Z-Bend Clubman Handlebars from Oldbikebarn.com The season is almost upon us! :rawk: Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Welcome to the madness. You will have a real hoot with the GZ. Post some pics of the bike and the training scars it suffered.

Any recommendations? Sure. Get out and ride mate. Ride her lots. Plenty of people have made sweet looking bobber style bikes out of the GZ, and its a good sturdy basis to start from. But ride it plenty before you do anything, get used to the way she rides before you make wholesale changes!
Most important, welcome and enjoy.
