what type of Castrol? they make different varieties of passenger vehicle oils, heavy duty engine oils, as well as motorcycle oils? thanks

Apparently we're about the only ones left that uses "y'all".

20w-50 and 10w-40. Summer/winter. Gets pretty hot here in Tx. during the summer. Even used Chevron Delo 15w-40 on occasion, all worked well.

I lived in Carbondale Pa for a year. Worked in Wilkes barre and worked in Scranton. Then moved back to NY.

I use Castrol motorcycle oil 10w 40

I am in Florida and use mine to commute.
I have found that conventional oils start to "cook off" or experience thermal breakdown at 1500-1800 miles, the synthetics last much longer, up to triple depending upon weather.
For me the key is that we only have about a quart and a half of oil to work with, so it is important to keep fresh oil in the mill.
