Brake light

Just got my GZ out of winter storage and was checking it out and noticed the brake light didn't come on when I used the hand brake, but it does with the foot brake. Any advice on where to start to fix this? The weather in Minnesota has been unbelievable and I'm excited to get back out! Thanks.

Re: Brake light

There are two separate brake light switches.one for the foot pedal & one for the lever.Check the switch that is activated by the lever. It may need replacing or the lever is not contacting the switch.

Re: Brake light

The switch is usually part of the lever housing/clamp with a couple wires leading to it. When you pull the lever a small plunger will be released and make an internal contact to complete the circuit. Take a good look with good lighting while working the lever. When the lever pivots you should see the plunger. It may be hanging up due to lack of use and a bit of corrosion from winter storage. A spray of contact cleaner may be all you need.
