First step is to check all the vacuum hoses from the petcock to the engine etc. Check that they're all there, tight, no holes, not been chewed by vermin while the bike was stored. Bet that you find the answer right there. :2tup:

Re: Fuel not going into the carburetor

Thanks everyone.

I added some Sea Foam to the fuel, and now the bike will run for longer after a couple of seconds in PRI position, but it still dies.

Found the vacuum hose - what should I be looking for in it?

One end fits on carb, the other end fits on back of petcock.

Re: Fuel not going into the carburetor

It should hold a vacuum in it, between the carburetor and the fuel valve.
Well not really a vacuum, more like a little negative pressure. Its suction opens the fuel valve when it's on ON or RES.
If it is leaky or brittle: replace.

Re: Fuel not going into the carburetor

OK, I have been stupid. Its not enough to find the vacuum hose, it has to be connected on both ends. It got disconnected somehow. I plugged it back and and the motorcycle starts instantly.

Now I will just have to monitor it just to make sure its own securely.

Thank you all.
