Do i need to do anything special to instal these. Like rewire or is it just slip off, slip on? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: Handlebars. Additional Assy?

Re: Handlebars. Additional Assy?
It's not always easy to get the old grips off, you have to get something under the rubber and pry it off the metal bar it's sort of glued to, or cut them off.
When you remove the one on the right, or throttle, side, do not cut off or damage the plastic sleeve that rotates around the bar and engages the throttle cable. The right and left grips may be different internal diameters so check out which goes where before you try and install them. When you put on the new grips, you can lubricate them first with a good dose of hairspray which when it dries, also glues the grips to the bars again. Make sure you read all the directions in how to do this so you don't screw it up. |

Looks like what he is getting has the sleeve integrated in the grip. No need for a throttle sleeve.

Re: Handlebars. Additional Assy?
I always juts cut mine old one with a razor blade.
Make one long/straight slash, from the inside of the handlebar out, and then peel the rubber grip off like opening an orange. |

Re: Handlebars. Additional Assy?
Last thought - Make sure you get the right size (7/8") before you cut the old ones off.
