Making it more obvious that a bike is in the parking spot.
So, when got my motorcycle, I literally got home with the bike and the sky was threatening to rain.
So, I ran over to Target and bought a generic motorcycle cover. The problem is that it's a dark blue that makes the bike all but invisible in my parking space in front of my house. I'm kinda worried about some idiot pulling into my space and knocking my bike over. I thought about adding some reflective tape to the cover, but I was concerned that it wouldn't stay on the cover in the hot sun on the days I don't ride. Any other suggestions for gadgets for the parking spot or improvements to the cover, to make it more obvious that my bike is occupying this parking spot? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Try searching Google. ''Reflective tape" or SOLAS tape will eventually take you to a site that has stick on reflective patches for material and sew on patches too.

careful with covering your bike, if it rains afterwards uncover the bike, moisture will really mess things up, faster than the bike getting rained on. just imagine a good rain comign through then it gets hot and humid, get my point? what i do when i park my bike in a car spot is park it near the end of the spot, not down against the curb, thatway drivers will see it even before they think to trun into the spot

Thanks Geezer,
I'll remember to uncover after rain. I'm parked dead middle of the spot, not all the way out, not all the way in, biased a little to the right of the spot (post people who want to park would be approaching the spot and seeing it from the left. ) |

Since it's at your house anyway, you could also get a nice orange traffic cone or two to make your 'spot taken' more visible.

Got an old saw horse that needs a coat of bright orange paint. That would probably work too.
