Re: First pics after pulling it in the shop

At one time, I had aspirations of putting one together as part of a sound system. Flashing with the beat sort of thing. Never found time for it though.

COOL! Nice to see there is actually someone else with a GZ250 AND a DeLorean! I just bought the bike last week, but I have had my DeLorean since 2002!

Re: First pics after pulling it in the shop

You on any of the dmc forums or lists? I used to be but the crowd I'm used to running with has an easier time of poking fun at themselves and I just couldn't get used to the dmc characters so I quit hanging around them. Serious people are bad for the soul.

How do you like your Bricklin? I've not ever seen one in real life and was always curious what the acryllic looked like in person.

Re: First pics after pulling it in the shop

In the past I posted on the DML, DMCHelp and a few times on DMCTalk. I agree with you about some of the funky characters on those forums. Lately I only post on our own Arizona DeLorean Club Yahoo Group forum. Anyone is welcome to join! We have a great group of people here in AZ, and we are a very active club.

To answer your question, the Bricklin body is horrible! The acrylic body was a good idea in theory. In actual use (especially in AZ) it leaves a lot to be desired. The fiberglass under the acrylic is fine, but the thin acrylic layer cracks and warps, even in colder climates. Also, the molded-in color fades very easily.

I had always wanted a Bricklin to sit side by side with my DeLorean at car shows, and that hasn't changed, but I have had kit cars that were put together better (and had nicer fit and finish) than the Bricklin!

It was probably the fault of my phone sending a phone-coded link.

I love that car!! Always wanted one, but they are next to impossible to find and very expensive. Excellent work of art and machinery. I really wish someone would start making them again, beautiful cars.
