1st ride in traffic

When for a short ride today. It was my first time in real traffic and first time up in 4th gear. What a blast. I was a little nervous about the traffic but I did ok. Still taking baby steps. Learning to walk before I run. Each time I go out I do a little more and go a little further. Should have done this a long time ago. :rawk:

Keep your eyes in the back of your head.
Lots of danger out there in traffic.
More fun in the boonies and get into 5 th gear.

Congratulations Raysuki!!! That's great! Soon, you'll be looking for errands to run and other reasons to go out and ride. I try to "Justify" my reasons for riding, due to gas prices, but you can't get better mileage than with the GZ! Keep up the great progress, and stay safe!

People forget that motorcycles are completely legitimate means of transportation. The same can be said for bicycles. People get so accustomed to life with cars that they see them as the only way to travel. Remember that this is not the case.

Some people buy bikes as toys. Others buy them for what they are; a means of transportation. Somewhere in recent history, the idea of what a motrocycle is got mixed up. Which is odd, because bicycles and motorcycles have been getting people from place to place for a lot longer than cars have.

"Some people buy bikes as toys". So true. Bought my bike instead of a retirement rocking chair. Much more than a toy in my life. Lynda loves her GZ250 and we both agree riding makes you feel younger and more alive. If it is only an illusion I say bring it on. Some folks need all the toys to show the neighbors but spend too much time working to keep them.

I got mine because I wanted to ride. It just sort of turned into transportation when I realized that the only way I was ever going to get used to riding in traffic was to ride in it 20,000 miles later I don't like to get to work any other way.

Badbob I do envy you right now. The parking lot for the apt complex here is one really big sheet of ice. If it wasn't for that we would both be out riding around town and grinning.
